ABOUT US

INVESTING IN OUR REGION'S FUTURE

For over 35 years, WEB Water has believed quality of life depends on access to safe, sustainable water. The logistics of providing safe, quality drinking water depend on the constant construction and replacement of infrastructure systems. To be successful, we need to plan for tomorrow's projects today.

THE IMPORTANCE OF RURAL WATER

  • Every $1 spent on infrastructure generates $6 in returns.
  • A new poll by the Value of Water Campaign released April 2020 shows that 84 percent of American voters want state and federal leaders to invest in water infrastructure.
  • One-fifth of the US economy would be affected without a reliable and clean source of water.
  • In 2019, water service disruptions caused $51 billion in economic losses for 11 water reliant industries including education, health services, retail, construction, and manufacturing.

THE CURRENT STATE OF WEB WATER

We have completed over $20,000,000 in system improvement projects since 2016, including:

  • 4 miles of 24” parallel pipe west of Ipswich
  • 3.25 miles of 30” parallel pipe east of Bowdle
  • Mainline Booster Station west of Bowdle
  • 17 MGD Intake Screen
  • Underground Surge Tank at the Water Treatment Plant
  • Generators at the Intake and Water Treatment Plant for current and future expansion needs
  • Redfield Booster Station

Even with this progress, WEB cannot take on any new bulk services. Rural services are available on a case-by-case basis outside of the moratorium areas. Please contact the WEB Water office to discuss.

Due to the current limited capacity of the WEB Water System numerous inquiries have had to be turned down for water requests including businesses, housing developments, and livestock producers.

Some areas are currently in a moratorium and cannot support ANY new services.

GROWING FOR THE FUTURE

We are excited to invest and expand the WEB Water system to continue to provide safe, sustainable drinking water to the region.

$82,000,000 of additional system projects are in progress including:

  • 13.9 miles of 49.5” parallel pipe from Intake at the Missouri River to the intersection of Highway 83 and Highway 12 south of Selby
  • Moratorium and low-capacity area improvements involving 120 miles of PVC pipe
  • 8 new and upgraded booster stations throughout the system
  • Water Treatment Plant Expansion from 11 MGD to 17 MGD
