FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

In water systems, moratoriums occur when the area's need for water is higher than the water system can provide. At WEB, we prioritize these areas to increase service capacity.

Capital Improvements are planned improvements to WEB’s system that are funded internally.

Occasionally, we need access to private property to construct and maintain our distribution system. In these cases, we obtain an authorization called an easement to access to the property for our work.

These are two names for the same thing: a building that houses pumps for our distribution system. These stations help distribute water and increase pressure in some areas.

  • Mainline: these pipes are 20" or greater in diameter, supplying water to the rest of the distribution system.
  • Distribution: these pipes are under 20" in diameter, branching from the mainline pipes to distribute water to our customers
  • Parallel: these pipes are installed parallel to existing pipe; the existing pipe remains in service alongside the new pipe
  • Discharge: these pipes are downstream of a specific pump station

In most cases, the existing pipe is still functional and serviceable, so it remains in use alongside the new pipe. If the existing pipe is no longer functional, it will be safely decommissioned.
